The short version
- Your photos stay on your device. Photo to pixel art, pixelate, blur, face finding, pattern sheets, PDFs and batch ZIPs are all made in your browser. We never receive, see or store those images. The only exception is the optional Pro AI pixel style, described below.
- Face finding downloads Google's MediaPipe runtime from jsDelivr and the face model from our own server. Only code and the model are downloaded; nothing about your photo is sent.
- We don't use advertising cookies or sell personal data. We use Google Analytics, with a consent banner in the EU/UK.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email and message are emailed to our support inbox, used only to reply to you, and not stored in our database or logs.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive your email and subscription status from Stripe; we never see your full card number.
- AI pixel style (Pro, optional): only when you click Redraw, a resized copy of the image (at most 1024 px) is sent to our server and on to our image-editing provider (nanobananaapi.ai, which uses Google Gemini image models). Our server keeps the copy in memory only while the job runs and makes it available to the provider through a random, short-lived link; it is never written to disk. The result is passed straight back to your browser; we don't keep it or its URL. Nothing from the image is logged.
- Pro licences: after checkout we store a licence record (random licence key, plan, Stripe customer and subscription ID, status, AI edits used this month) to unlock Pro. A signed cookie remembers your licence on this device.
- Usage counters: we log counts only (for example, AI edits per day), never images, file names or form fields. Rate limiting uses your IP address in memory for about a minute and does not store it.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4; see Analytics and cookies below.
- Local storage: your cookie choice is stored in your browser only.
- Server logs: our host may keep standard logs (IP address, user agent) for security for a short period.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to understand which pages and tools are used, so we can improve them. It collects pseudonymous usage data: pages viewed, approximate location (country/city, derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics does not store), device and browser type, referrer, and anonymous tool events such as "image loaded", "download (PNG)", "faces found (count)", "upgrade clicked", "checkout started" and "purchase" (plan, amount and an order reference). We never send your images, file names, form contents, email address or licence key to Google. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that last up to 2 years. Advertising features and ad cookies are off.
- EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland: analytics is off by default (Google Consent Mode v2). A small banner asks for consent; analytics cookies are set only if you click Accept.
- Other regions (including the US): analytics is on by default. You can opt out any time.
- Opt out or change your choice: use "Cookie settings" in the footer, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or block cookies in your browser. The tools work the same either way.
Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
